2 Chainz & Dj Drama Discuss Impact Their 'T.R.U. Realigion' Mixtape Had On His Career

When they worked together to create the T.R.U. REALigion mixtape in 2011, 2 Chainz and DJ Drama created history. The two had just now had a discussion about Chainz’s career and the significance of the ground-breaking tape.

On Tuesday (July 24), Titi Boy, a musician formerly known as Titi Boy, stopped by Drama’s Gangsta Grillz podcast on Audible for a conversation. There, he said that not even he had anticipated the mixtape’s impact when it was first published.

He explained, “The thing is, I’m on fire, and you ain’t touch mine.” We are seated in this location as a result. Because we screwed these people up when we eventually joined up.

2 Chainz said, “T.R.U. REALigion created my most iconic ad-lib, which is “real,” when DJ Drama noted that the mixtape was the first to chart on the Billboard charts. It gave birth to my label’s name. They want me to produce a label because I get so hot when I put the tape together and it was a brand I was wearing.

The chart-topping song “Riot,” which was included in the album T.R.U. REALigion when it was released on November 1st, 2011, helped to establish 2 Chainz as a popular solo artist. The mixtape, which has over 1 million downloads on DatPiff and has been recognized as a diamond mixtape, includes guest appearances from Big Sean, Jadakiss, Kreayshawn, Raekwon, Birdman, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy, and others. This number of downloads is required for a mixtape to be given the site’s platinum certification.

Drumma Boy, C-Note, Lex Luger, Chophouse, and others contributed to the production.

In 2013, the rapper mused that JAY-Z might appear on his upcoming album as a result of the mixtape’s success.

At the time, he stated, “I always had it in mind that I was gonna put Jay Z on my third album. Some individuals skip steps and then wonder why they are stuck in their current situation; they create these glass ceilings. I believe I still have opportunity to develop and have not reached my full potential. Getting a verse or something like from Jay Z for the next album is always exciting.
