National Wine Day, observed on May 25, celebrates the diversity within the U.S. wine industry. While the country is home to over 11,500 wineries and generated an estimated $75.27 billion in value in 2024, Black-owned wineries make up less than one percent, with around 100 establishments. This list highlights 10 Black-owned wineries that blend quality winemaking with culture, innovation, and community storytelling across the U.S.

Brown Estate – Napa Valley, California
Napa Valley’s first Black-owned estate winery, Brown Estate is known for its Zinfandel and a range of other wines. With over 20 years of winemaking history, the Brown family offers tastings in a downtown Napa room that highlights their legacy.

Chapelton Vineyards – Washington, Texas
Owned by Kurt and Michelle Lyn, this vineyard offers tastings that include wines from their estate as well as international selections from Uruguay, Argentina, and California. The winery blends historic Southern charm with modern luxury.
