Texas Entrepreneur Acquires Largest Historic Building In His Hometown.

Larry Singleton Jr., a co-owner of the Dallas-based boutique Private Selection, proudly announces his acquisition of the largest historic building in downtown Burkburnett, Texas. After a 3-year rent-to-own deal, Singleton, an African American businessman and native of Burkburnett, has successfully purchased the property, originally constructed in 1920. This achievement is a major milestone both for him and the town’s future.

Singleton, known for his impact in Dallas through his high-end sneaker and streetwear boutique, is now focusing on revitalizing his hometown. He plans to restore the historic bank building located at 317 E 3rd Street in Burkburnett, ensuring its architectural heritage is preserved.

“This acquisition isn’t just a business move for me—it’s about preserving our town’s history and sparking local revitalization,” Singleton said. “Growing up here, I always dreamed of giving back to Burkburnett, and now I have the chance to do that.”

The building has a rich history, having once been a local dealership during the oil boom era. Singleton aims to restore it while encouraging local business and community engagement. His journey, from boutique ownership in Dallas to real estate investment in his hometown, exemplifies entrepreneurial ambition and community-driven progress in Texas.

Singleton hopes his project will inspire young entrepreneurs, especially those from small towns like Burkburnett, showing them the impact they can make in their communities.

His future plans for the building, still under wraps, promise to benefit both local businesses and the community. With the possibility of obtaining historical status for the building, this acquisition is the beginning of a new chapter for downtown Burkburnett, blending respect for history with a vision for the future.
