Consequence Claims Ye And Kendrick Lamar Have An Album's Worth of Material, Including 40 Songs.

Consequence has been a vital part of Kanye West’s inner circle since day one. He contributed to Ye’s first two albums and has continued to pen verses for the rapper into the present. If anyone has insight into Ye’s recording process, it would certainly be him. In a recent interview with Bootleg Kev, Consequence shed light on Ye’s relationship with Kendrick Lamar, claiming that they have an album’s worth of material waiting to be released.

During the conversation, Consequence revealed that Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar are sitting on an estimated 40 songs together, some of which are allegedly produced by the renowned Madlib. The reason these tracks have yet to see the light of day? Consequence believes it’s simply a matter of taking the time to structure an album. “I just think it just needed to be structured,” he asserted. He also claimed to have heard every recorded song, expressing his excitement about the project. “It was there, it’s there, it’s crazy,” he noted. “It’s there.”

Consequence’s discussion about a Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar joint album is more of a confirmation than a revelation. While it’s thrilling to know that songs between these two legends exist, Ye himself hinted at his Lamar collaborations back in 2016. The “Carnival” rapper tweeted that he had been in the studio with Compton’s finest and Young Thug during the making of The Life of Pablo. “Me and Kendrick got 40 songs and me and Young Thug got 40 songs,” he wrote. “40/40 club!!!” Kendrick Lamar and Thugger did appear on The Life of Pablo, lending credibility to Ye’s claims.

The only official collaboration between Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar to date emerged from those 2016 sessions. “No More Parties In L.A.” served as a head-spinning lyrical showcase for both artists, featuring an exceptional Madlib beat, which aligns with what Consequence shared about the producer’s involvement. Ye seems to be in an increasingly healthier headspace lately, leaving fans hopeful that he’ll decide to release some of these K. Dot collaborations from the vault.
